Artist contributions to Leaves - Palmer Sculpture Biennial
Liz Ports
Liz Ports primarily makes installations and mosaic sculptures from discarded fragments of glass, ceramics, tile and occasionally dried palm inflorescences. She is currently expanding Trains of Thought, an installation of over five hundred postcards scrounged from friends, on which she has hand-written memories sparked while riding trains and trams in Adelaide. She loves other people's art and welcomes opportunities to collaborate, write nonsense or run mosaic workshops in country towns.

Liz initiated the Leaves project with her submission to the Palmer Sculpture Biennial 2026 where she outlined the original vision for a fabric installation in spiral form grounded in the Palmer landscape. She was initially supported by fellow artist Sally Caston, and was later joined by fellow Honours student, Lisa Conolly to help manage the project. Both Liz and Lisa completed their Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) in 2026 at Adelaide Central School of Art.
