These hand painted shoes make perfect slippers.  High quality paint is used, and shoes can be washed and the paint will wear very well.  Eventually the paint will scuff a little round the edges of the shoe through normal wear.   The shoe was Made in China, and bought cheaply at Big W, and then hand painted.  The shoe has "cotton/synthetic" upper and lining, and feels much like a cotton canvas shoe.
