Cuisenaire rods were an Australian invention, used to teach children to count, add subtract and multiply. Each coloured wooden rod represented the numbers 1 - 10. This work is a reflection on the playfulness in the seemingly random arrangements of numbers in space. I like the idea that science and maths is also a playful and creative space. This series of works emerged from my research about the sculptures of Robert Klippel and particularly the sculpture in Adelaide, called "Sculpture No, 714". Klippel pioneered the use of assembly of found objects.
