This picture is created over a base layer of watercolour on a hefty 300gsm cotton blend paper, which is then scribed with a metal point to draw the lines.  After scribing, a further layer of coloured pencil is used to bring out the drawing.

The paper has been glued to a book binding board frame, and this results in a lightweight but stable finished work.   

This image of a path to the sea was first photographed and painted by my mother, who became a wonderful painter later in life. The original image was taken from a path at Dee Why beach in Sydney.
