Artist contributions to Leaves - Palmer Sculpture Biennial
Rita Bellati
Cascading leaves of weeping sheoak trees are the inspiration for this work. I seek to express a sense of enchantment with the liveliness of pendulous branches that move, shimmer in the light and whisper in the breeze.

For this work I used ink applied wet on wet onto a cotton sheet, and ink drawing with brush and pen. Jute chord was glued and stitched into place with embroidery thread.
